Sheppard Pratt at Ellicott City, formerly known as Taylor Manor Hospital, has operated continuously as an independent private psychiatric hospital since 1907. High quality, cost-effective psychiatric treatment and special programs are provided in a campus setting. Each patient’s treatment and length of stay is individualized with a focus on crisis management and stabilization. A treatment plan is developed by a multi-disciplinary treatment team in conjunction with the patient and the referral source. The treatment team typically includes a Psychiatrist, an Internist, a Case Manager who is a Psychologist or a Social Worker, Activity and Recreation Therapists, Nurses, and Psychiatric Counselors. All referrals are welcome; patients return to their referring professionals. Referrals may be made by a patient, friend, employer, family, or health professional. Admission is usually voluntary, but may be by court recommendation or with physicians’ certificates. Programs: (Click on a program for more detailed information) |
